about

México Lindo is a soulful and joyful piece that brings the Huapango, a Mexican folkloric music and dance genre from the Huasteca region, to an orchestral context. The word Huapango comes from Náhuatl, the second most spoken language in México and one of the 68 indigenous languages that are still spoken today; it translates to "on top of the wood" due to the fact that the Zapateado is danced over a wooden platform called Tarima.
